Industry sources suggest that after an extraordinary year in 2007, Toronto's high-rise condominium market is slowing. Although sales remain strong, individual projects are having a more difficult time as a huge number of developers - 148 in the high-rise market - compete for buyers.
Toronto condo listings and sales came in at 3,433 in the first quarter of 2008 compared to to 3,425 for the same time last year. But those almost identical numbers were spread over 25% more buildings, as the number of projects in the cutycontinues to grow. The average price of Toronto condo listings was over $400 per square foot.
